Cherry Creek High School

The Cherry Creek High School Speech and Debate Team cordially invites you to attend our After School Congress on Tuesday, March 20, 2018.

Location- The congress will be held in the IC building at Cherry Creek High School (Registrar and Library building).  There is a parking lot in front of the building. Cherry Creek High School is located at 9300 E. Union Avenue, Greenwood Village, CO 80111.

Time- The competition will be held on Tuesday, March 20.  Registration will take place between 4:00 and 4:30 pm.  Debate will begin promptly at 4:30 and conclude at 7:00 with an awards ceremony immediately following.

Entries- The entry fee is six dollars ($6.00) for each student. Please make checks payable to Cherry Creek High School. Please send payment to: Marti Benham, Cherry Creek High School, 9300 E. Union Avenue, Greenwood Village, CO 80111

Preregistration- Registration will occur online at www.tabroom.com.  Entries will be handled on a first come, first served basis. Registration will close on Monday, March 19 at 3pm. Fees will be charged based on pre-registration numbers.

Bills and Resolutions- The docket is included in this email.  We have selected a variety of bills and resolutions for the docket from prior congress competitions.  Hopefully this will encourage high quality debate and provide plenty of time for research and preparation.

Coaches/Judges: Each school will be responsible for bringing at least coach/judge to the tournament. A responsible coach/adult must be present on site at all times. 

Rules: We will use NSDA Congressional Debate rules. Competition is open to 9-12 grade students representing the school in which they are officially enrolled and doing so with the permission of their school administration and/or coaches.

Awards- Awards will be given to outstanding speakers, superior speakers, and presiding officers in each house.
